Mangalore, Mar 25, 2014 : A family of four from Mumbai which had travelled by the Matsyagandha Express to their hometown Mulki last week, has lost a baggage containing gold ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakhs.
Though the family head Mahabala B Suvarna tried to lodge a police complaint, the cops both at Mulki and Udupi police stations reportedly refused to accept the complaint.
The family had boarded the train on March 20, Thursday and had reached Mulki the next day.
The suspicion is that three youth who were in a hurry to get down the train at the station and had placed their baggage atop the baggage of the family, might have escaped with the bag containing jewels.
