Mangalore, Jan 11,2013: A major fire mishap has been reported from the Primacy Candle Factory at Baikampady on Thursday night, January 10. The watchman of the factory alerted the police and fire service authorities who had rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. The fire continued till January 11, Friday morning.
The fire forces had tough time in extinguishing the fire as the factory had stock of candles and other inflammatory substances. Almost entire factory has been reduced to ashes. The fire continued till morning, January 11, in spite of the efforts by police and fire service personnel.
Not many were present in the industrial area when the fire was first noticed, as most factories do not have night shifts. Though a large number of people gathered at the place on getting to know of the fire mishap, the police have prevented them from coming closure to the factory.
