Belthangady, March 30: The Special Police of Forest Mobile Squad, Mangalore has arrested two culprits and confiscated the skins of two deer near Ujire Town Circle.
The arrested were identified as Rama Gownder (42) and Ravi Gownder of Tharakere, Chikmagalur District. They planned to sell the animal skin without having any license. When they were waiting to sell the skin near Ujire Town circle, the Special Police of Forest Mobile Squad led by Naveen Chandra Jogi, took them into custody under the wildlife protection act and handed over to Belthangady police for further interrogations. But the total worth of goods yet to be known.
The operations were conducted under the guidance of Narayana Gowda, IPS, IGP, Bangalore Forest Mobile Squad and R Krishnamurthy, Superintendent of police, Madikeri forest unit. Naveenchandra Jogi, PSI, Forest Squad Mangalore, Ashok Shetty, Seetharam, Umesh Hosalike, Papa Ram Shetty, Dayananda, Chandrashekhar and Harishchandra were others participated in the operation.
