Former Catholic Sabha Central president Kashmir Menezes passes away

Belthangady, February 13, 2025: Kashmir Menezes, former Central President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R.) for the term 1991-93, a dedicated social worker, skilled organizer, and retired teacher from Belthangady, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, after a brief illness. He was 79 years old.
 
From 1972 to 2012, he served as the chief caretaker of Ratnamana in Ujire. He also worked as a teacher at Sri Dharmasthala Secondary School, Dharmasthala SDM High School, and served as the director of SDM Residential College. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as an agricultural specialist.  He is survived by his wife, two children, grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and well-wishers.

A devoted member of the Catholic Sabha organization under the Mangalore Diocese, Menezes played a crucial role in strengthening and developing the organization. Expressing their deep sorrow over his demise, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R.) Central Spiritual Director Rev. Dr. J.B. Saldanha, Central President Alwyn D’Souza Paneer, Immediate Past President Stany Lobo Bantwal, former presidents L.J. Fernandes and Gerald D’Costa, along with all past presidents and members of the Central Executive Committee, have conveyed their heartfelt condolences.
