Foundation laid for Kudmul Ranga Rao Memorial Community Hall

Mangaluru, Feb 24,2016 : The foundation for the Kudmul Ranga Rao Memorial community hall near the ZP School at Babugudde was laid on February 24, Wednesday by DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai, MLA JR Lobo and Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred.

In his address, Rai spoke about the contributions of late Kudmul Ranga Rao towards the welfare and upliftment of the Dalit community. " Leaders like Rao played a pivotal role in helping Dalits lead respectable lives," he said.

MLA of Mangaluru South, who also spoke, said the foundation for the community hall has been laid by overcoming all hurdles. He also informed that a sum of Rs one crore was sanctioned for the building when Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya visited Mangaluru. Even the MCC has granted an equal amount, he said adding the construction would be complete within 15 months.

Jacintha VIjay Alfred, city Mayor, also spoke on the occasion.
