Four elephants fall into lake in plantation at Sullia

Sullia, April 13, 2023: Four wild elephants including two baby elephants which entered a plantation in search of food, accidentally slipped and fell into a lake at Ajjavara village in Sullia on April 12, Wednesday night.

The plantation at Tudiyadka belongs to Sanath Rai. The elephants before falling into the lake had destroyed several trees in the  plantation.

Forest officials have arrived  at the spot and are trying to get the elephants out of the lake. A JCB is also being used in the operation.

Meanwhile, locals have urged the authorities to capture all wild elephants in the area and shift them. It may be recalled here that wild elephants have often caused damage to plantations in many places of Sullia.
