GVA Sastry, former senior vice president of MCF, passes away

Mangaluru, February 15, 2025: G. V. Atmaram Sastry (85), former Senior Vice President (Works) of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (MCF), passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday, February 14, 2025, in Bangalore. He is survived by his wife, Usha Sastry, and two sons, Anand G. A. and Adarsh G. A.
He joined MCF in 1973 as an Assistant Engineer and rose through the ranks, retiring as Senior Vice President (Works) in 1999. He played a pivotal role in transforming MCF from a challenging phase to the thriving organization it is today. Known for his leadership and dedication, he was widely respected across all sections of the organization. Even after retirement, he continued his association with MCF, initially serving as a Technical Advisor and later as a Whole-time Director.
