George Fernandes memorial bus shelter inaugurated at Karambar

Mangaluru, Nov 8, 2020: A new bus shelter constructed at Karambar in memory of the former defence minister and great socialist leader Late George Fernandes was inaugurated on November 8, Sunday by George’s brother Michael B Fernandes.

In his address, Michael recalled the great contributions of his brother George Fernandes who rendered selfless service to the society and also spoke about George’s memorable tenure as  Union Minister for Railway and Defence.

MLA Umanath Kotian who was present as a chief guest, said the contributions of George Fernandes should forever be remembered by the people.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said he greatly admires George Fernandes and suggested that  a statue of  the towering leader needs to be  installed in Mangaluru in his honour.

 George Fernandes Abhimani Balaga President Jagannath Salian, Vice President of the Balaga Walter Monteiro, Secretary Gratian Wilfred Mathias, TP Member Supritha Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
