Grand Paryaya: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji ascends Sarvajna Peetha

Udupi, Jan 18, 2024: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige Mutt ascended the Paryaya Sarvajna Peetha during the early hours of January 18 at a grand religious ceremony. The Puttige Seer will be in-charge of all the religious activities of Krishna Mutt for the next two years. Admar Mutt Swamiji Sri Vishwa Priya Theertha handed over the responsibility to Sugunendra Theertha by placing him on the Sarvajna Mutt.

Paryaya

Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji had a holy dip at the Dandatheertha in Kaup at 1.30 am and arrived at Jodukatte following which the grand Paryaya procession commenced. At Jodukatte Pooja was offered to Lord Veera Vittala, the presiding deity of Puttige Mutt. The new Paryaya seer was accompanied by his junior seer Sri Susheendra Theertha Swamiji

Several colourful tableaux depicting the culture of the region were part of the festivities.

Udupi district in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, Union Minister and local MP Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi Deputy Commissioner Vidyakumari, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna and many other dignitaries were part of the Paryaya celebration.
