Hijab row : Indefinite holiday for Government College at Carstreet

Mangaluru, Mar 05, 2022: Following a Hijab row that cropped up at the Dayanand Pai-Satish Pai Government First Grade College at Carstreet on March 4, Friday, an indefinite holiday has been declared for the college. All exams too have been postponed as per the directive of the Deputy Commissioner.
Students have received messages from the college stating online classes will be conducted.
On Thursday, several Hijab clad girls had complained that they were not allowed to write exams. The confusion had continued even on Friday when five girls wearing Hijab were stopped near the college gate. It is said an ABVP activist student and a few others too prevented the girls leading to an altercation following which a second year degree student even lodged a police complaint.
