Hit and run case: Critically injured rider dies in hospital

Ullala, June 12, 2023: A bike rider who was seriously injured in a hit and run incident in Sankolige, Uchchila, died in a private hospital in Mangalore on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Tejas Kulal (28), a resident of Madoor Vaidyanatha Temple Road, Kotekaru.

On the night of June 4, Tejas was riding his bike in Sankolige. Meanwhile, a Kerala registered car hit and fled. The Mangaluru South Traffic Police registered a case of hit and run and confiscated the car that caused the incident the next day based on the CCTV footage of Talapady toll gate.

Tejas, who was seriously injured, was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Deralkatte and later admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore for further treatment. But the police said that he died on Monday without responding to treatment.
