Mangaluru, July 06, 2023: Due to the continuous heavy rainfall in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod, the respective district administrations have announced a holiday for schools and colleges on Friday, July 7.

 

The Deputy Commissioners of DK and Udupi, Mullai Mugilan and Kurma Rao respectively, along with the District Disaster Management Authority, have jointly declared a holiday for Anganwadi centers, government and private primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges on July 7.

Holiday for schools, colleges in Kasargod

In Kasargod district, the District Collector, K Impashekhar, has declared a holiday for schools and colleges on Friday, July 7, in light of the relentless heavy rain. This decision has been made as a precautionary measure due to the submergence of various areas within the district and reported landslides. The district has experienced strong winds and heavy rainfall for the past four days, making the holiday necessary to ensure safety.
