IMD predicts heavy rainfall over next five days, issues yellow alert

Mangaluru, July 16, 2023: Anticipating heavy rainfall, authorities have issued a yellow alert for the coastal region. The alert will remain in effect from July 16 to 20 for the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada.
Furthermore, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Hassan, and Kodagu districts will be on yellow alert on July 19 and 20, while Belagavi and Bidar will experience the alert on July 20.
As of 8:30 am on Saturday, Shirali recorded the highest rainfall with nine cm. Kundapur received seven cm, Kadra six cm, and Karwar, Mangaluru Airport, Gokarna, Gerusoppa, Joyida, Panambur, Kota, and Uppinangady experienced four cm of rainfall. Mangaluru, Mani, Ankola, Jagalabet, Kumta, Manchikeri, Udupi, Londa, and Ourad received three cm of rainfall.
