Ikala Harish Shetty to present new Tulu soap Bhoomi

Mangalore, April 28: Udaya Dharmasthala, a member of Tulu Sahitya Academy, said that Ikala Harish Shetty of Mumbai will present Bhoomi, the mega Tulu soap, under the banner of Nidhi Media Tech of Mangalore. He was addressing reporters at a press conference held at Press Club on April 28, Thursday.

He further said that the shooting will commence on May 1 at Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala at 10:30 a.m. with the blessings of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade. Bhoomi will be first Tulu soap to be shown daily on the Kannada Channel Chandana. The serial deals with real issues in and around the twin districts.

Naveen Kumar Hegde Beluvayi, the producer and director of the soap, said that 50 episodes of the serial are now ready for shooting and the sub title of the serial will be displayed in Kannada.

The cast includes starlets such as Shashidhar Kote, Kukkuvalli, Ramesh Pai, Roopashri Varkady, Shivaprakash Poonja, and others. The lead role will be played by Devendra Heggade, and special roles will be played by Soundarya Ramesh, D. K. Chowta, K. P. Putthuraya, Jyothi Puthuraya, and Udaya Dharamasthala.

Cameraman Chandra Shekar Bhat was also present on the occasion.
