Inter-school roller skating contest this weekend

Mangalore, Feb 5: The Mangalore Roller Skating Club is organizing its 10th inter-school roller skating competition this weekend.

President Praveen Kumar told reporters that this competition will mark the 20th anniversary of the Mangalore Roller Skating Club. Over 200 skaters from 26 schools all over the district have registered for the competition.

The competition will comprise rink race and road race. The rink race, which will be held on the evening of Saturday and Sunday at the skating rink near Kadri Park, will be inaugurated by District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar. The road race will be held on Sunday near Kadri Park and will be flagged off by the Kadri Circle Inspector Niranjan Raj Urs.

Sharanya Mahesh, who won the 14th Asian Roller Skating Championship medal, will be honored at this event, said Mr. Kumar.
