JD(S) worker Girish Putran found murdered at Bajpe

Mangalore, Dec 23, 2012: Girish Putran, a JD(S) worker from Mangalore, has been found murdered near the MRPL D Gage in Bajpe police station limits on the night of December 22, Saturday. Stab injuries have been found all over his body.

Girish (50), President of the JD(S) Hoigebazar Fisheries Wing was earlier missing since the evening of December 21.

                 

 

His family and friends after a frantic search for him, registered a complaint of missing in Pandeshwar police station on December 22.

Pradeep Prabhaker Nair, a close friend of Girish  said  he received a call from the Bajpe police on December 22 night stating a body has been found in the bushes  near the MRPL gate and it was later identified as that of Girish.

It is suspected that it was a murder for gain as six gold rings, bracelet and a chain all worth Rs 5 lakhs which Girish was wearing, were missing.

Girish was constructing a new house and the house warming ceremony was scheduled to be  held on January 18. He is survived by  his wife Prafulla and two sons Sonal and Swaroop.

Police suspect Girish was kidnapped and then murdered for his valuables.The body has been shifted to Wenlock Hospital.

Bajpe police are conducting the investigations.
