Mangalore, May 09, 2023: For the last five years, the development work in Mangalore City North Constituency has come to a standstill and a victory for JDS candidate Mohiuddin Bava in this constituency this time will open a new chapter in the development of the DK district, said B.M. Farooq, member of Karnataka Vidhana Parishad.
He expressed these words while engaging in a house-to-house campaign for the JDS candidate in Mangaluru City North.
Although the Janata Dal had a strong base in the coastal region 40 years ago and it has declined due to the mischief of the Congress party, the JDS will once again rise tall in the Mangaluru City North constituency. He appealed to the voters to give JDS a chance.
From 2013 to 2018, when Mohiuddin Bava was the Suratkal MLA, several development projects were carried out in full swing. After the BJP’s double-engine government came to power, the development works in the constituency collapsed during the last five years. Instead, politics of hate has been carried out here, Farooq said.
D.K. should have seen development in all sectors, including tourism, IT and ports. But hate politics is rampant in the district. The district is getting a negative image due to the murder of innocent people, the drug mafia and immoral rowdyism. He said that during the era of Karnad Sadashiva Rao, Srinivasa Mallya, TMA Pai, Haji Abdullah, Mulki Sundaram Shetty, etc., projects like NITK, port, banking and airport came to the district, but the politicians who have come to power after that have caused environmental destruction through hazardous industries, unscientific drainage and improper waste disposal.
In 2018, the BJP put itself in a powerful position by winning seven constituencies in DK district and five constituencies in Udupi district. Although there are three MPs from the coastal region, coastal development is zero, including in D.K. district. Though there are beaches that are suitable for tourism, they are not developed. An atmosphere of fear has been created in the district, where a lot of students come not only from outside the district and state but also from foreign countries. This is the BJP’s contribution, he said.
He said he was confident that the voters in Mangaluru North will ensure victory for JDS candidate Mohiuddin Bava for implementing new projects to complement tourism and a harmonious life.
Complete transformation of the district:
The overall development of the district will reach its peak if the JDS candidate is elected in Mangalore North this time. Some of Mohiuddin Bava’ old unfinished projects will be implemented as soon as possible. B.M. Farooq said that all the development works announced by the party in the manifesto, including bringing employment-generating industries, providing an adequate drainage system, a permanent solution for drinking water, the construction of playgrounds with T-pitches, and well-equipped parks, will be fulfilled.
