Job scam: Teacher arrested for cheating

Kasargod, October 25, 2024: Vidyanagar police have arrested a school teacher on the charges of cheating people after collecting money from them with a promise of providing jobs.

The arrested teacher is Sachitha Rai (27) of Perla. It has been learnt that she is an accused in over 12 cases registered in Uppinangady, Badiadka, Kumble, Manjeshwar, Kasargod, Adoor and Melparamba police stations and was absconding since some days.

She was arrested on Thursday when she arrived to surrender before the court.

A woman named Nishmitha Shetty had lodged a complaint against her. It is learnt Sachitha had collected crores of rupees after promising jobs in Kendriya Vidyalaya, SBI and other government departments.

According to Nishmitha Shetty she had cheated her of Rs 15 lakhs after promising job in CPCRI. Meanwhile, Suchitra Rao of Delampady had lost Rs 7.31 lakhs which she had reportedly given to the accused upon a promise to get a job in Kendriya Vidyalaya.

The accused Sachitha Rai is a former DYFI member and a teacher at a school in Badoor.
