Journalist, thinker, founder of ‘Dalit Voice’ V T Rajashekhar passes away

Mangaluru, November 20, 2024: Well-known journalist, writer, thinker and founder editor of ‘Dalit Voice’ , V T Rajashekhar passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Wednesday. He was 93 and was ailing since some time. Rajashekhar was residing at Shivabagh in Mangaluru.
Rajashekhar had served Indian Express for over two decades and in 1981 had started Dalit Voice. Rajashekhar was a strong advocate of reservation and Dalit rights and a staunch critic of Sangh Parivar. He was the recipient of several honours at the national and international level.
Rajashekhar’s son Saleel Shetty has served as General Secretary of Amnesty International.
