Mangalore, Sep 17, 2013: The two days national seminar ‘Samprathi-2013’ hosted by at St. Aloysius College was inaugurated at Eric Maithas Hall of the College on September 17, Tuesday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, High Court Judge, Justice Dr. Jawad Rahim said that Codes related to crime prevention as mentioned in the constitution are just codes of law, hence amendment must be brought to make it as the codes of Justice.
During the process of investigation, victims are victimized in the investigation process, even though they gain more importance. Hence the law need to be modifies, he said.
He also said that most of the time, people are not satisfied with the law, because some are not peaceful. While sometimes people feel that law becomes inadequate and is not reviewed.
College Rector Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, Principal Rev. Fr. Swebert D’silva SJ, seminar convener Vidya Vinutha D’souza and other were present on the dais.
The seminar on ‘Mitigating the Menace of Crime for a Just and Humane Society will be held on the valedictory ceremony to be held on September 18, Wednesday.
