KORWA shares Christmas joy with kids from orphanages

Mangalore, Dec 15, 2013: It was a great occasion for the nearly 500 children from four orphanages in and around the city when they converged at the Loyola Hall here on December 14, Saturday for the  Christmas celebrations organised by the Konkani Overseas Returnees Welfare Association (KORWA).

Children from Prajna Counseling Centre, Infant Mary’s Orphanage Centre, St Angela Home, Bejai and Jeevadaan, Gurupur - Kaikamba participated in the celebrations and also displayed their talents.

Speaking at the programme, JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South appreciated KORWA for its kind gesture of celebrating Christmas with the underprivileged children and orphans.

Rohan Monteiro, MD of Rohan Corporation and main sponsor of the event and Elias Sanctis, businessman were honoured on the occasion.

Ivan D’Souza, Congress leader and President of Rachana, Fr Melwyn D’Cunha, Vice President of KORWA and Sabitha Misquith, Corporator were present as chief guests.

Children enjoyed the day to the fullest extent. Santa Claus added to their joy with his arrival.

There was a stupendous dance performance by Beat Bouncers Troupe and live music by Rising Star Band.
