KSRTC Conductor suspended for sexually harassing female passenger

Mangaluru, April 25, 2025: State Transport Minister has ordered the suspension of a KSRTC bus conductor who is facing charges of sexually harassing a lady passenger who had fallen asleep in the bus operating on the Mangaluru-Mudipu route. The minister who has taken the issue seriously has also ordered for a quick and thorough probe into the case.

Konaje police have arrested the conductor Pradeep Kasappa Naikar (35) of Bagalkote based on the complaint of a social activist. The KSRTC has immediately suspended the conductor.

The incident took place on April 22. Two female passengers had occupied the ladies seats of the bus and one of them had fallen asleep when the conductor came near her and reportedly tried to inappropriately touch her.

A fellow passenger had captured the incident on his mobile phone camera and the same had gone viral.

Konaje police immediately swung into action and arrested the conductor.
