Karkala, Dec 22, 2022: Karkala police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the theft of valuables worth lakhs of rupees from a house at Kalya village on the night of December3.
The arrested are Prasad alias Pachu (34) from Arambodi and Shiba (39) from Kalya village who assisted the former.
The accused had robbed jewellery worth Rs 9.75 lakhs by entering the house of Usha Jagadish Anchan. A complaint was lodged in Karkala Rural Police Station limits.
Police have recovered the stolen valuables from the arrested duo.
The accused Pachu had several theft cases and also POCSO case against him. Both have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
