Karkala: Man cheated of over Rs one lakh after fake job promise

Karkala, January 7, 2025: A complaint has been lodged in Karkala Rural police station accusing a man from Mangaluru of cheating over one lakh rupees after promising a job in MRPL.

Suchith of Mulladka village was searching for a job when a friend of his who worked in an interior design firm at Kadri in Mangaluru, at the behest of a person named Avinash, informed Suchit of vacancy in MRPL.


When Suchith contacted Avinash, the latter reportedly demanded Rs 1,05,600 and promised a job on December 13. Accordingly Suchith transferred money online to Avinash between November 18 and 26. However when no job came his way he realized he was cheated and lodged a complaint at Karkala Rural Police Station.
