Karkala: Municipal Councillor arrested for assaulting labourer

Karkala, November 19, 2024: Karkala TMC Councillor Seetharam (60) was arrested by the police for assaulting a labourer resulting in a fracture of the leg of the latter. The incident took place at Bandimutt on Sunday.
Seetharam has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The victim Mahabala Moolya (55) of Nitte has been hospitalized. On Sunday, Mahabala was sitting near a milk booth at Bandimutt when Seetharam who arrived there abused him and hit his leg with a wooden club following which Moolya suffered a leg fracture.
A case was registered in Karkala town police station.
