Karnataka Bank launches 4 new products

Mangalore, Feb 18: “The banking industry has brought about a number of changes in its system,” said Dr. Raghuveer Adiga during the inaugural ceremony of a renovated branch of Karnataka Bank in Dongerkery on Feb 18, Thursday.

Chairman of Karnataka Bank Ananthakrishna said in his presidential address that the Karnataka Bank is unique because it has given a modern look to a historical banking system. Remembering the bank’s first branch, the chairman said that the bank intended to provide educational facilities, an objective that the bank still focuses on.

Anand Rao Madiga S made the welcome and introductory speech.

Mr. Bhima Bhat inaugurated the “Student Prepaid Card,” a reloadable product for students that can be purchased for anywhere between Rs 1000 and Rs 45,000.

Mr. Sitaram Murthy M, Mr. R V Shastri, and Mr. U R Bhat inaugurated Mobile Banking, KBL Gold Debit Card, and 10 ATM Kiosk, respectively.

Managing Director of Karnataka Bank P Jayaram Bhat said in his key-note address that the four new products are part of core banking, adding that the bank, which has 463 branches all over the country, is making business worth Rs 35,000 crore.

S R Hegde, Manujanth, and H Rammahan were the dignitaries on the dais.
