Kasaragod: Schoolgirl dies as tree falls on head in rain

Kasargod, July 3, 2023: A tragic incident occurred on Monday evening in Angadimogar near Puttige when a tree toppled over due to strong winds and heavy rainfall, resulting in the unfortunate death of a young female student.

The student who lost her life has been identified as Aishat Minha, an eleven-year-old sixth-grade student studying at Government Higher Secondary School at Angadimogar in Puthige grama panchayat.

Ayshath and two of her friends were walking to the school bus when a small Macaranga tree fell on her head, said a teacher. Upon witnessing the incident, local residents immediately rushed to the scene and promptly transported her to a hospital in Kumble. However, despite their efforts, she was declared dead upon arrival.

The other two students escaped unhurt. Ayshath was the daughter of B M Yusaf and Fathimath Sainab of Angadimogar.
