Kasargod : Painter turns crorepati overnight; thanks to Kerala lottery

Kasargod, July 27, 2022: A painter by profession, Mohammad Bava hailing from Pavoor in Manjeshwar has turned crorepati overnight, thanks to Kerala State Lottery. Ironically Bava was reeling under severe debt after he constructed a new house and was even planning to sell off his house. Now, the Lottery Prize has come in as a real boon to him.

Bava had constructed a new house eight months ago availing a loan of Rs 45 lakhs. However he was finding it difficult to repay the loan and had planned to sell off his house for Rs 40 lakhs through a broker and had even shifted to a rented house recently with his two daughters.

He had purchased four lottery tickets and one of them has hit the jackpot. Though his prize money is Rs 1 crore, he is expected to get Rs 63 lakhs after tax deductions.
