Mulki, Feb 8, 2016: Shri Samyameendra Theertha Swamiji who recently took over as the new pontiff of the Sri Kashi Mutt Samsthan, is in the district for the first time after ascending the Kashi Mutt Peetha.
The seer who arrived from Haridwar to Mulki to participate in the silver chariot dedication programme of Shree Venkataramna Temple here, was accorded a grand reception at the Udupi Railway Station by the GSB community members. He was taken out in a procession from Mulki town to the temple. Enroute,representatives of various organisations honoured the Swamiji.
The Digvijaya Mahotsava of the seer was participated by over 50,000 devotees from undivided DK district and also Kasargod. The seer later offered Mahamangalarathi to the specially decorated idol of the Lord at the Temple following which there was a mass Anna Santharpane.
The seer who will be camping in Mulki till February 10 will visit various religious places in the vicinity during his visit.
