Kaup: School girl dies, hit by an express bus

Kaup, Mar 11, 2023: A school girl dies after she was hit by a private express bus on the National Highway 66 at Kaup on March 10, Friday.
The victim is Varshitha Shervegara (13), an eighth standard student of Kaup Mahadevi High School. She was on way to school on Saturday morning and was standing on the roadside to cross the road when the bus hit her.
Varshitha received grievous head injuries in the accident and was admitted to Udupi district hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Kaup police have taken the bus driver into custody.
