Kodijaal should apologize for humiliating women over UCC: Sulochana Bhat

Mangaluru Oct 24, 2016: BJP spokesperson Sulochana Bhat lambasted Interim Congress president Ibrahim Kodijaal for humiliating women over polygamy.

 

Addressing media at BJP office on Monday October 24 Monday, she pointed out the comments of Ibrahim Kodijaal which stated that a man can allowed to have multiple wives if women failed to fulfil sexual desires.

She said that, this comment was humiliating for every women in this country for which Kodijaal need to apologize. Several women organisation have raised their voice against triple talaq and Quran preaches to respect women, but people like Kodijaal are misinterpreting the teachings of Quran.

She also said that, there is no talaaq rule in Pakistan and Bangladesh so inorder to have security for muslim women in our country, central government need to  have healthy discussion and gain feedbacks from muslim women before enforcing Uniform Civil code.

On this note National Law commission formed questionnaires consisting of 16 questions and every muslim women are free to give suggestions on the same, she added.

Senior Congress Leader Janardhana Poojary is known for his counselling when his partymen take wrong steps, he has shown his positive gesture towards women when he appointed widow priest to perform padapuja at Kudroli Temple. She requested Poojary to guide his partymen regard to polygamy.


District BJP president Sanjeev Matandoor, Vikas Putran, Prabhamalini and others were present.
