Subrahmanya, April 17, 2025: The Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple has once again reaffirmed its status as Karnataka’s wealthiest temple, topping the revenue charts for the financial year 2024–25.
According to official data, the temple recorded an impressive revenue of ₹155.95 crore (₹155,95,19,567), marking a rise of ₹9.94 crore from the previous year’s ₹146.01 crore. The majority of this income stemmed from various religious services, notably the highly sought-after Sarpa Samskara ritual, along with other offerings and donations.
During the same period, the temple’s total expenditure stood at ₹79.82 crore (₹79,82,73,197).
Administered by the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments, Kukke Sri Subrahmanya remains a prominent pilgrimage destination, attracting devotees from across Karnataka and other states. Renowned for its deep-rooted tradition of serpent worship, the temple continues to be a vital center for spiritual and cultural practices.
Kukke Subrahmanya has consistently led the rankings of temple revenues in Karnataka, with Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple typically trailing in second place. With this year’s figures, Kukke is once again expected to top the department’s official list of highest-earning temples, soon to be released.
