Kundapur: Couple come into contact with live wire; electrocuted

Kundapur, Sep 30, 2023: A couple were electrocuted after they accidentally came into contact with a live wire that had got snapped and had fallen on the ground at Sulse near Hemmady in Katbeltur Gram Panchayat on September 29, Friday afternoon.
The deceased are Mahabala Devadiga (55) and his wife Lakshmi Devadiga (48). Mahabala was a labourer and had been to a house in the village for some cleaning works on account of Ananta Chaturdashi. After the work he was returning home when he accidentally came into contact with the snapped electrical wire and died on the spot.
Lakshmi who came in search of her husband saw him lying motionless and immediately alerted neighbours. Though others asked her not to go nearby she in a bid to rescue her husband went forward and was also electrocuted.
