Kundapur, January 2, 2025: An unusual situation has arisen where hundreds of tourists traveling to the Kollur Mookambika Temple are being misdirected to the distant village of Nandalike. Tourists relying on Google Maps to navigate to Kollur end up in Nandalike, only to realize their mistake and then face the ordeal of traveling hundreds of kilometers back to Kollur.
Nandalike has a small temple dedicated to Goddess Mookambika, which is mistakenly listed on Google Maps as the Kollur Mookambika Temple. According to locals, tourists and devotees, unaware of the difference, often arrive at Nandalike. Visitors have urged Google to correct this navigation error to ensure a smooth journey to the renowned temple near Kundapura in Udupi district.
Tourist Chandan has appealed to Google to ensure proper navigation to the Kollur Mookambika Temple. Over the past three months, this issue has caused trouble for many travelers, especially those visiting for the first time from cities like Bengaluru, Kerala, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
