Leeladhar Shetty daughter kidnap case: 4 arrested from Kumble

Kaup, Dec 18, 2023: Kaup police have arrested four persons at Kumble in Kasargod in connection with the alleged kidnap of the minor daughter of social worker Leeladhar Shetty who recently committed suicide at his house.

Those arrested are Girish (20) of Shirva, said to be a friend of Leeladhar Shetty’s daughter, Roopesh (22), Jayanth (23) and Mohammad Azeez of Majoor.

Leeladhar Shetty had adopted a girl child 16 years ago. The girl was missing on December 11 and a kidnap case was lodged against Girish at Kaup police station.

Leeladhar Shetty and his wife Vasundhara who were deeply agonized over the missing of their daughter had ended their lives.

Police have filed a case against Girish under POCSO apart from kidnapping charges. The other three too are facing POCSO case. The girl has been taken to the hospital for medical examination.
