Mangalore, Dec.22: Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore expressed his Christmas message in the name of Jesus Christ who took birth on December 25 for the salvation of humanity. The Bishop wished every one Happiness and Peace. Christmas is a festival to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the son of God.
Speaking to media in the Bishop’s house on Tuesday December 22, Bishop said that Christmas is celebrated around world in remembrance of the Son of God who took birth to save the humanity from evil. It is a day to rekindle our joy in spreading peace and love in society. He hoped that all the people in the country and all over the world live in peace and harmony.
He also said that, Pope Benedict 16 of Roman Catholic has announced June 2009 to June 2010 as the year of Christian Bishop. The Priests must follow the principles of Jesus Christ and become the lively role model to others through their service, sacrifice and friendly relation.
The Diocese of 158 churches along with other community Priests’ are serving the society in the principles of Jesus. He also said that they are also maintaining good communal relation with the people of other religion. The wishes of Christmas must reach all the rich, poor, elders and the youngsters and help in maintaining peace and harmony in the country.
