Mangalore, Feb 20, 2013: Monappa Bhandari, MLC and BJP spokesperson has informed that the party would contest in all seats for all the local bodies in the district which are going to the polls on March 7.
Speaking to reporters on February 19, Tuesday, he said during the last elections, the party had contested in only 109 out of the total 157 seats and had won in 84 seats including 35 in MCC.
He said the party would not enter into alliance with any party in any place this year unlike last year.
On the MCC elections, he exuded confidence that the party would be able to regain power even this time.
On the selection of candidates, he said a meeting was already held in the presence of leaders including MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and the candidates would be selected taking into view the opinion of the workers of the respective wards.
On KJP leader Dhananjaya Kumar’s recent comment hinting at the possibilities of former CM DV Sadananda Gowda joining the JD(S), Monappa Bhandari dubbed the comments as ‘unwarranted.’
