MCC Bank to launch new schemes and services at 100th anniversary celebrations

Mangalore, May 5: The Mangalore Catholic Cooperative Bank (MCC) has devised a number of innovative banking services and schemes such as Swant, an automobile scheme, which will be launched by NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist on the occasion of the inauguration of the 100th anniversary celebration of the bank, which will be held at Milagres Hall on May 8, Sunday.

Swant enables customers to deposit 10 percent of the value of the vehicle while taking delivery of it. MCC Bank Chairman Melwyn D’Cunha said that the bank also plans to introduce core banking system and many more branches including a centenary branch along with a number of schemes for customers, shareholders, and bank staff, he said.


Mr. D’Cunha also said that Dr. Henry D’Souza, the bishop of Bellary, will concelebrate the Holy Mass at Milagres Church at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday with Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore, presiding.


The event will be inaugurated by AICC General Secretary Oscar Fernandes. The chief guests will be District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar; Bishop of Bellary Dr. Henry D’Souza, John D’Silva, the senior banker; Albert W. D’Souza, the president of Model Co-operative Bank in Mumbai; Shobha Menezes, the president of KEL Dubai; N. Rajanna, the joint registrar of the cooperative society; and Palangappa, the deputy registrar of cooperative societies.


Dr. Edward L. Nazareth, the vice chairman; Joseph Quadras, the general manager; directors Adolphus Cutinha, Raymond D’Cunha, Jacintha Boromeo, Valerian Pinto; advisor Vasanth Adyanthaya; DGM Raj F. Saldanha; among others were present at the press conference.
