MCC draws flak for operation against street vendors

Mangaluru, July 30, 2024: The eviction of street vendors from near Ladyhill, KPT and other places in the city on Monday by the Mangaluru City Corporation, has drawn sharp reaction from the Street Vendors’ Association.

B K Imtiyaz, president of the Association has termed the MCC action as dictatorial and has criticized Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur for ordering eviction of street vendors. He further opined that the action of the MCC was in violation of the Street Vendors Act of 2014.
