Mangaluru, January 25, 2025: Answering a resident who pointed about dumping of waste by the raodside in Bangra Kuloor at the phone-in programme, the Mayor said the MCC has installed 16 cameras at different places in the city, and is taking action against those dumping waste by the roadside. “Some of these cameras are not working and they have been sent for repair. The corporation has identified new places where cameras will be installed,”
Mr. Kumar said these cameras will come up in all the 60 wards of the city. “Wherever dumping of waste has stopped that camera will be removed and placed in the area where it is needed,” he said.
To a question by a resident of Kadri about thriving beef stalls in the city, the Mayor said action has been taken to close down the slaughter house in Kudroli. ‘If anybody is running illegal slaughter house, please give information to us,” he said.
When a resident of Ullal Hoige demanded repair of foot over bridge connecting their area to NH 66 Netravathi Bridge, Mr. Kumar said the repair work has stopped following stay granted by a civil court.
A resident of Krishnanagar in Bondel said, residents are troubled with late night operation of home stays in the locality. Residents of Padil Karmar and Gorigudde asked Mayor to resolve the long pending drainage line problem in their areas. Mayor told a senior resident of Honnakatte in Hosabettu that MCC is looking at other options of laying drainage pipeline to connect the main line as his house was at a level lower than the main drainage line.
A resident of Bejai Church Road expressed the need for repair of portion of embankment of a Rajakaluve that has fallen five months ago. A resident of Landlinks expressed concern over the roadside tree that has precariously leaned towards his house. Another caller complained that domestic waste collectors were not collecting waste coconut leaves kept outside the house.
A resident of Kankanady demanded early repair of a portion of pavement that has been damaged near Karavali Circle. A senior citizen from Kavoor expressed need of zebra crossing near Kavoor Mahalingeshwara temple.
A caller form Vidyanagar in Kulai said the concrete road in their area was dug up for laying gas pipeline and has not been restored in proper shape.
