MLC Ivan D’Souza urges swift completion of DC Office first floor by August 15

Mangaluru, August 4, 2024: MLC Ivan D’Souza has instructed the Dakshina Kannada district administration to complete the first floor of the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) office complex and relocate the offices of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner to the new facility by August 15.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, D’Souza stated that the engineers and contractors working on the project have committed to finishing the first-floor construction by Independence Day.

“Although construction of the new DC office complex began in 2014, it has not yet been completed. The project’s cost has increased from Rs 41 crore in 2014 to Rs 55 crore now. The Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) has agreed to release Rs 20 crore to finish the building. Tenders will be invited soon to complete the remaining work as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we want to ensure that the three major offices are moved to the new building by August 15,” D’Souza added.
