The MP also advocated for the initiation of innovative development projects, such as attracting Global Capability Centres and establishing a premier banking institution. A detailed memorandum was presented to the Minister during the meeting.

A statement from Capt. Chowta’s office noted that this discussion follows the Finance Minister’s recent visit to Mangaluru, during which regional development priorities were reviewed. Stressing the urgency of the pending projects, Capt. Chowta said, "These initiatives are crucial for the region’s development and have been delayed for far too long."

Following the meeting, Capt. Chowta remarked, "These projects hold the potential to position Mangaluru as a major hub for trade, commerce, and economic activity while enhancing coastal security. Under the guidance of the Finance Minister, I am confident these initiatives will lead to the comprehensive development of Dakshina Kannada."

Highlighting the proposal to establish an Institute of Banking Research and Training (IBRT), Capt. Chowta noted, "Our region has been the cradle of the banking industry, producing some of the finest minds in banking and finance. It is only fitting that we honor this legacy by hosting a premier institution."

Reaffirming his commitment to the district’s progress, Capt. Chowta said he envisions Dakshina Kannada as a model of innovation and development, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the goal of a developed India by 2047.
