MRPL Donates ₹47 Lakhs to Akshaya Patra Foundation for Mid-Day Meal Program

Mangaluru, September 3, 2024: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has donated ₹47 lakhs to the Akshaya Patra Foundation to support its Mid-Day Meal Program. This initiative, led by ISKCON, provides hot, nutritious meals to approximately 2,500 students from schools near the MRPL facility, ensuring they receive daily mid-day meals throughout the academic year.

The contribution aligns with MRPL’s "Shiksha Samrakshan" scheme, which focuses on promoting education through various initiatives. By supporting the Akshaya Patra Mid-Day Meal Program, MRPL aims to enhance the learning environment for children by ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.

The Letter of Intent for the donation was handed over by Mr. Prashanth Baliga, GM (CSR) of MRPL, to representatives of the Akshaya Patra Foundation. MRPL Officer Steevan Pinto was also present at the occasion.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government and government-aided schools.
