MRPL has filed false cases against our leaders, alleges Jokatte Horata Samithi

Mangaluru, Dec 29, 2014 :  The Jokatte Nagarika Horata Samithi has  charged MPRL of filing false cases against nearly 17 leaders  of the Samithi for the sole reason that they were spearheading the agitation against the Coke and Sulphur units of MRPL.

Speaking to reporters here, BS Hussain, a leader of the Samithi  accused MRPL of using the Police Department to curb the agitation through such false cases. He said the MRPL has flouted all  rules by releasing effluents of the plants to water sources and by  spilling coke  powder on the road while transportation.

He also regretted the fact that the district administration has so far not  taken serious note of the problems.

Samithi leaders PV Rao, Muneer Katipalla and others were present.
