Mangalore, Dec 24, 2012: Members of the Karnataka Madarasa Hifazath Committee staged a protest in front of DC office in Mangalore on December 24, Monday demanding suspension of the District Wakf Advisory Committee President Usman Haji K for his alleged failure in adhering to the state government order with regard to implementation of Madarasa syllabus.
Addressing the protestors, Ghulam Mohammed, President, Karnataka Madarasa Hifazath Committee who is also the Udupi District JD(S) Working Committee President, accused Usman of resorting to politics in the name of religion and also charged him of being biased. Mohammad also alleged that injustice has been done to Madarasas run by the group led by AP Aboobakker.
It may be recalled here that the state government had issued a circular directing that the AP group syllabus be continued in madarasas. It is alleged that Usman, instead of adhering to the order, was favouring the EK group syllabus.
Madarasa Hifazat Committee Vice President Syed Meeran Saab, Aboobakkar Siddiq Montugoli, Abdul Rashid Zaini, Kaamil Saqaafi and some JD(S) members took took part in the protest.
