Malpe, July 19, 2023: Five fishermen were rescued from a sinking boat near the estuary at Malpe port on July 18, Tuesday. Goods worth lakhs of rupees in the sinking boat have also been retrieved.

The boat which had ventured into fishing was caught in rough weather following which water began to enter the boat. On coming to know about the incident, rescuer Eshwar Malpe and his team rushed to the spot in a boat and rescued the fishermen on board the sinking boat.

After taking the rescued fishermen to the shores, the team once again ventured into the sea and succeeded in getting the two engines worth Rs 3 lakhs as well as the fuel in the sinking boat.
