Malpe port assault case: Victim seeks withdrawal of case against accused

Udupi, March 25, 2025: The victim in the case of assault reported from Malpe fisheries port area recently, has on Monday submitted a memorandum to Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr K Vidyakumari seeking to withdraw cases registered against the accused in the case.

She said the incident reported recently has been amicably settled at Malpe police station and said it was not proper to file cases against innocent fishermen.

She has also appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to heed to her request and ensure she and many like her who have come from other districts seeking job at the port, are able to continue their work at the port and earn their livelihood.

Udupi MLA Yashwanth Suvarna, Banjara community leader Jayasimha and others were present.
