Man arrested for raping, impregnating minor girl

Kaup, June 11, 2024: A man who was absconding since two months after raping and impregnating a minor girl was arrested at Ballary. A POCSO case has been registered against him.
The arrested man is Chethan alias Tippesh of Chirathagunda in Vijayanagara district. The girl was staying in a rental accommodation at Shankerpura when he had befriended her and had developed physical relationship with her.
When the family members came to know that the girl was pregnant they admitted her to a hospital and later shifted her to Surabhi Ujwala Kendra of Shivamogga.
The accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody till June 20.
