Man arrested for sexually abusing step-daughter

Kundapur, July 13, 2023: Kundapur police have arrested a man from Byndoor on POCSO charges for allegedly raping his step daughter. The accused identified as Sohel has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The accused had married a woman from another state who was living with her two children after abandoning her husband. The family lived in Kundapur. It is learnt at home he used to harass the daughter of the woman. It is alleged that he used to lock up the woman and her other daughter in a room and then sexually abuse the victim.
He has also been accused of assaulting and abusing the mother of the victim following which the woman had lodged a police complaint.
