Man arrested in Moodbidri for harassing minor girl

Moodbidri, March 12, 2025: Moodbidri police arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly harassing a minor girl in the jurisdiction of Paladka Gram Panchayat.

The accused, Pavan Kumar, is a resident of Alangar Uliya in Marpadi village, which falls under the Moodbidri Municipality limits.

According to reports, on the evening of March 8, the girl was returning home on her bicycle after attending tuition classes in Janata Nagar near Kadandale Vidyagiri. Pavan Kumar allegedly followed her on a two-wheeler and intercepted her in a uninhabited territory, where he harassed her.

The girl managed to escape and ran home, while the accused fled the scene.

Based on information gathered from various sources, the police tracked down and arrested Pavan Kumar near Alangar.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesh P.G., along with crime division personnel Akhil Ahmad, Nagaraj Lambani, Mohammad Hussain, and Mohammad Iqbal.

The police have registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act.
